Indications for emergent dialysis (AEIOU)

 A-> Acidosis

E-> Electrolyte imbalance, particularly hyperkalemia of >6.5

I-> Intoxication, particularly Li,

O-> Overload of volume, particularly with signs and symptoms of CHF or pulmonary edema

U-> Uremia, with altered mental status, pericarditis 

NOT FOR HIGH CREATININE OR OLIGURIA ALONE
